Quinoa, pronounced 'keen-wa', originates from the Andes in South America, though our organic Australian quinoa is proudly grown by the Damen Family in Northern Tasmania.

Quinoa is gluten-free, has a low glycaemic index (G.l. 51) and contains more protein than any grain. It is considered a complete protein containing all the essential amino acids. Quinoa needs to be washed before cooking to remove its bitter flavour, revealing a subtle nutty flavour and a light fluffy texture.
